Penn Medicine Princeton Health is currently searching for a Full Time, Days, HIM Coding Quality Specialist for Princeton Medical Center, Clinical Documentation Department.
Review coded medical records for coding and DRG accuracy by verifying that the principal diagnosis, secondary diagnoses, principal procedure, and secondary procedures have been assigned accurately and produces the highest level of reimbursement to which the facility is legally entitled. This shall be completed according to established coding guidelines and rules for reporting. All coding staff shall have quality audits performed on a consistent basis, the results of which are incorporated into their performance reviews.

High School Graduate / GED / Equivalent Work Exp
Vocational / Technical School / Diploma Program
CCS – Certified Coding Specialist
At least four years’ previous work experience coding inpatient medical records, preferably in an academic medical center setting.
Extensive knowledge of medical terminology, human anatomy and physiology, and clinical disease processes
Extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT-4 classification systems
Working knowledge of federal, state, and third-party payer documentation requirements.
Experience in medical recording coding review and audits helpful
Familiarity with computerized encoders
